21-Day CrossFit Weight Loss Challenge – Day 1

Welcome to the 21-day CrossFit weight loss challenge! This program is designed to boost your metabolism and help you burn fat while building physical strength. On day one, we focus on the fundamentals, learning proper technique, and building motivation.

Day 1: Priming Your Body and Learning the Basic Movements

Warm-Up

Duration: 10 minutes
Goal: Increase blood flow and prepare your muscles for the workout.

  • 3 minutes of easy running or jogging in place

  • 2 minutes of jumping jacks

  • 1 minute of high knees

  • 2 sets of 10 arm circles

  • 1 minute of light squats to prep the knees

Skill Practice

Goal: Master the technique of the core CrossFit movements.

  1. Squat:

    • 3 sets of 10 bodyweight squats.

    • Pay attention to your back and knees (keep your back flat and your knees tracking over your toes).

  2. Burpee:

    • 2 sets of 5 reps to get familiar with the movement.

    • Focus on a small, controlled jump.

  3. Push-Up:

    • 3 sets of 5 reps.

    • If it's too hard, you can drop your knees to the floor.

Workout of the Day (WOD)

Goal: Raise your heart rate and burn calories.
Format: AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible)
Duration: 10 minutes
Within that time, complete as many rounds of the following circuit as you can:

  • 10 bodyweight squats

  • 5 burpees

  • 5 push-ups

Tips:

  • Take a short 30-second rest between rounds.

  • Write down your total number of rounds so you can track your progress.

Cool-Down

Duration: 5 minutes
Goal: Bring your heart rate down and return your body to its resting state.

  • 1 minute of slow, deep breathing.

  • 1 minute of hamstring stretches.

  • 1 minute of quad stretches.

  • 1 minute of spinal twists.

Extra Tips for Day 1

  • Drink enough water: Aim for at least 2 liters of water throughout the day.

  • Nutrition:

    • Breakfast: vegetable omelet with whole-grain toast.

    • Snack: one banana and a few almonds.

    • Lunch: grilled chicken breast with steamed vegetables.

    • Dinner: tuna salad with fresh vegetables.

  • Get enough rest: 7-8 hours of sleep per night is essential for recovery.
