
Day 6 of the 21-Day CrossFit Weight Loss Challenge: Balance and Full-Body Stability
Welcome to day six! Today we'll work through movements that target core strength, balance, and full-body stability. These exercises will help you build not just more physical strength, but also better performance and more control over your everyday movements.
Warm-Up
Duration: 8-10 minutes
Goal: Improve flexibility and prepare the body.
2 minutes of easy running or jump rope.
1 minute of jumping jacks.
1 minute of high knees.
2 sets of 10 side lunges.
1 minute of torso twists.
Skill Practice
Goal: Refine your technique before the main workout.
Side Lunge:
3 sets of 10 reps (5 per leg).
Focus on stretching the inner thigh and holding your balance.Superman Hold:
3 sets of 20-second holds.
Focus on squeezing your lower back and glutes.Rotational Plank:
3 sets of 10 reps (5 per side).
Keep your body in a straight line and control the rotation.
Workout of the Day (WOD)
Goal: Improve balance, strengthen the core, and burn fat.
Duration: 15 minutes
Format: AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible)
In 15 minutes, repeat the following circuit as many times as you can:
10 side lunges
8 burpees
6 rotational planks
20-second Superman hold
Tip:
Rest 30-45 seconds between rounds. Record the number of full rounds you complete and push for progress.
Cool-Down
Duration: 5-7 minutes
Goal: Return the body to its resting state and prevent muscle soreness.
1 minute of hamstring stretches.
1 minute of side stretches per side.
1 minute of cat-cow stretches.
1 minute of Child’s Pose to stretch the lower back.
1 minute of slow, deep breathing.
Day 6 Nutrition Tips
Pre-workout: an apple or a few dates.
Post-workout: a high-protein meal, such as boiled eggs and avocado with whole-grain bread.
Snacks: a glass of fruit smoothie with almond milk, or a few raw almonds.
