The Squat Snatch is one of the most advanced and technical Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit movements. In this lift, the barbell is moved from the ground directly overhead while the athlete simultaneously drops into a full squat. It’s a perfect combination of speed, balance, power, and technique!

Wide grip on the barbell: Hands should be wide enough so the elbows are fully extended when the bar rests at the hips.
Start from the ground: Keep your back straight, chest up, and eyes forward.
Explosive pull: In one powerful motion, lift the barbell overhead.
Deep squat: Drop into a full squat as you catch the bar overhead.
Lock the bar overhead: Arms locked out, stable position, knees aligned with toes.
Stand up from the squat: Maintain form and complete the lift.
